Wow... now I know this site is crawling with not Mac-lovers, but Mac-maniacs. There were valid points mentioned by intelmore in his comments, and Robotech Infidel spouts some senseless logic that leaves me rofl.
Look Infidel. You can NEVER say OS X is more secure than Windows because you can't prove it. IF the market was neatly divided 50-50 between Mac and PC users, and IF there were equally motivated virus-programmers bent on infecting the other OS, and IF Windows turns out to be seriously affected by this practice while OS X is humming along, THEN I'll believe you.
Now, this sneaky, young mind of yours scattered around the world will probably choose Windows to slash and burn rather than Apple. Why? The first and primary reason is that these punks seek fame - cyberfame - and let's see... hmm... coding and Apple virus won't get much attention will it? Cause the media will notice banks and major corporation network/websites crashing; not individual computers of movie makers or photoshop grinders. Second, Microsoft due to its huge market share is not portrayed favorably by the media and its shitty practices does make it fit into the 'bad-guy' profile. Apple on the other hand is more of a nice, soft, bubbly image (Apple's definitely does NOT a bad-guy image). Who will the programmer choose to kill? Microsoft.
I've been using both Mac and Windows, I like both and have not had a single virus on both of them. Yes, not on Mac and also not on Windows. And most importantly, I know how to see things objectively and not run headlong into the slightest criticism of Apple and bash the poster like some retarded moron.
Don't generalize your experience and state that Apple provides great customer service for everyone. The recently released MacBooks seem to have a shitload of problems/bugs with them at the moment (randomly turning off, whine, moo, heat, discoloration... to name a few) and this is easy enough to prove - just type Macbook -pro on Google and you'll find people very, very disappointed and angry on the time and resources they've wasted on the product. I, myself am waiting for the 3rd replacement which seems to be crawling its way from China.
Honestly speaking I'm very, very disappointed with Apple and their quality control of MacBooks. Customer service is okay compared to others, but getting two defective laptops in a row sort of cancels it out.
Just my opinion... and to stress that APPLE is not freakin perfect.
Nope nope nope... all wrong. Bill's true legacy is that by dominating the PC market, he forced companies like Apple to strive and produce quality products (OS X, ergonomically designed computers, etc) and excellent customer service. I hope he and Microsoft stays forever as to not give Jobs and Apple some slack... I don't want them to become bossy and treat customers like shit.
